Govt trying to save the OIL Cos - A farce

“We cannot fully insulate consumer”. That's PMs remark on rising fuel prices. The UPA is bent upon passing the buck to the customer. They are just happy to see that more of the public money is sucked by the increase in TAX due to increase in fuel price. The govt is not worried about the common man or the inflation. They just want to keep the treasury full.

It is unfair on the part of the govt to keep increasing the prices of the fuel when the common man is bleeding. I do not say that the govt should give us all the subsidy and absorb the shock. But just look at tax the common man has to pay on every hike. It is ridiculous. You Have to pay custom duty, excise duty , central sales tax, state sales tax. Has the govt not thought of rationalising the tax structure.

You have taxed us high till now. Now Just Give us a break.

Fuel Price Hike - Is there a solution?

Well ask yourself. Fuel prices go up everyday and we citizens pay more than the price of the fuel as tax. It is time we put some sense into the minds of the ministers on the top. There is a two rupee hike in petrol today. It means that at :
Mumbai petrol will now be sold at Rs 50.51/litre (from Rs 48.38/litre)
Chennai petrol will now be sold at Rs 49.61/litre (from Rs 47.44/litre).
Likewise the other states have their own levies. People pay more tax than they actually pay for the fuel.

My humble suggestion to the GOM is that :- An Indian citizen pays more than the actual fuel price in the name of tax. Taxes calculated for the fuels like petrol, diesel etc must be fixed on PER LITRE basis instead of a percentage of the cost of the fuel per litre. This will ensure that the poor man's interest is protected and at the same time the government is not at loss by cutting taxes. This is in long term interest of all of us.
